Success Story: Brunson’s Pub

“Starting a business is scary.  Getting a loan for a business can be even scarier.  But working with WBD made it not scary.  They made it simple and painless.  They know what they are doing and are awesome to work with!  They helped us navigate through hard decisions, and we are so grateful for everything they’ve done to help us.  Follow your entrepreneurial dreams, and let WBD help!”

     – Molly & Thomas LaFleche, Owners

Reflecting the history of the St. Paul area, Brunson’s Pub was named after the original St. Paul land surveyor Benjamin Brunson. Featuring a menu that boasts unique salads like the Watermelon Radish salad; sandwiches such as the Bahn Mi, which consists of pork belly, jalapenos, carrots, cucumbers and garlic aioli on French bread; and burgers including the No Payne, No Gain burger, which combines pulled bacon, blackberry Vidalia jam and a blend of cheeses on a milk bun, guests of Brunson’s Pub can also enjoy seasonal offerings and a wide assortment of cocktails, wines, and beers. With an atmosphere that honors hard work and neighborhood camaraderie and a menu that features fresh and locally sourced organic products, Brunson’s Pub is the perfect place for a good time.

With 26 years of industry experience, Thomas LaFleche was looking to open his own bar and grill. Utilizing an SBA 504 loan provided by WBD and financing from Venture Bank, Thomas was able to purchase and renovate a former saloon constructed in 1910 into the home of Brunson’s Pub. The St. Paul area is delighted to have the welcoming environment and tasty food Brunson’s provides to residents and visitors, as well as the benefits from the 39 new jobs Brunson’s brings into the community.
