“Bill and I first had a successful experience using WBD’s services for Copper Rock Coffee to obtain our Downtown Appleton building. This positive encounter led us to think of WBD when considering funding for a second business opportunity, Copper State Brewing Company. Together with our bank, WBD’s knowledgeable, organized, and friendly staff helped us navigate and fund our unique situation. Seeing the benefits of this process, we are very blessed to use WBD for Copper State Brewery!”
– Emily Heiges, Owner
Copper State Brewery is a new craft brewery and gastropub located on Dousman St. in Green Bay. Customers enjoy a warm, inviting gastropub experience that features menu options including high-end burgers and sandwiches, tacos, brick oven pizzas, fresh salads, flavorful soups, and tasty desserts. Many patrons choose to wash this fare down with one (or more!) of Copper State’s uniquely crafted beer offerings. Unique among tap rooms is the fact that breakfast is served daily, featuring coffee from Copper Rock Coffee of Appleton. A private loft that seats 30, a tap room that has seating for 40, and a restaurant with seating for over 100 people provides customers with plenty of space to enjoy the Copper State experience indoors. For those that enjoy their beer & food al fresco, Copper State offers a lovely biergarten that seats nearly 80 people. For the brewing enthusiast, Copper State plans to offer three different levels of brewery tours in 2018, which will showcase how Copper State crafts its flavorful beers.
A passion for craft beer prompted Bill Heiges, Gregg Mattek, Jon Martens and 11 of their family members and closest friends to open Copper State Brewery in the former Hinterland Brewing building. Utilizing an SBA 504 loan provided by WBD and financing from Investors Community Bank allowed this group of 14 owners to purchase the equipment that’s necessary for brewing the unique craft beers offered by Copper State Brewery. This new brewery and gastropub contributes to the variety of Wisconsin’s craft beer culture and adds 28 new jobs to the Green Bay community!
